The most important piece of athletic equipment is your body. To be successful, you must improve your mental approach, your technique, and your physical condition. Only then can your natural talent take over. At the Sports Performance Institute, we use the latest in sports medicine, exercise science, athletic training, and Dartfish™ video analysis to help you reach your athletic goals. We train all sports for injury prevention and performance enhancement including our Sportsmetrics and Pitcher Improvement programs
Our sport-specific physical training, supervised by a Doctor of Physical Therapy using the latest scientific approaches, helps you achieve:
* Sport-specific strength and flexibility
* Lateral quickness, control, vertical jump
* Endurance and Explosiveness
* Speed and Power
SPORTSMETRICS™
Our Board Certified Physical Therapists are specifically trained in Sportsmetrics™, the most researched sports training program in the world. Research has shown the program is effective in reducing ACL (knee ligament) injuries in female athletes while improving athletic skills and on-the-field performance of all athletes.
Individual athlete orthopedic physical exam results are used to prescribe dynamic warm-up, jump/plyometric drills, speed drills, strength training and flexibility exercises to:
* Reduce the risk of serious knee injury
* Improve leg strength, symmetry, and power
* Increase vertical jump
* Improve landing mechanics and reduce excessive torque on the knees
PITCHER IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
The Physical Therapists at SPI have created the Pitcher Improvement Program (PIP) to help young athletes, including starting MLB pitcher John Maine, maximize their talent and potential. You need more than good coaching, desire, and repetition.ccYou need the physical ability to safely and effectively pitch. Proper baseball or softball specific flexibility, strength, balance, endurance, and control are essential to performing at a college or professional level.
We are a leader in sports rehabilitation for throwers and other athletes. Our many years of providing physical therapy care for athletes indicates preventing injury is always easier than treating pain later.
We now have the science, the knowledge, and the expertise to maximize a player’s potential. We are working with professional pitchers, top college and high school players, and leading youth teams. Isn’t it time you took advantage of this cutting edge baseball technology? With PIP you will gain:
* Hip flexibility and core strength
* Rotator cuff and scapular stability
* Injury prevention and arm safety
* Endurance and longevity
* Velocity and Control
